How To Choose Effective Acne Scars Treatments
>>Important notice: Want to remove your acne scars? Check out the best acne scar treatments that I recommended.
Depending on the type of acne you have had, how long it lasted, and the care you gave your skin, you may be able to improve your acne scars with the right treatment. For severe acne that has left deep scars, serious treatments may be required and you may need to use more than one method to get results.
Here are some acne scars treatments you can choose from:
1. Collagen
Collagen is the natural ingredient that is in your skin and that gives it its structure. Many people use collagen injections to fill out lines and wrinkles to make them look younger. The same type of injections can be used to plump up the skin and improve the pitted scars that acne can leave behind. Some familiar names for collagen are Zyderm, Resoplast, Zyderm and Fibrel. Some people prefer this treatment since it involves putting something into your body that is natural and already exists in your skin. Depending on your acne scars, Collagen may be an option as an effective treatment for you.

2. Autologous Fat Transfer
Another natural treatment for acne scars is that of autologous fat transfer. This means taking fat from another area of your body and having it injected into the skin under the acne scars. Unfortunately, this process isn’t permanent and may have to be repeated every several months.
Both of these treatments for acne scars are for deep scars. Not all scars from acne are the same and different types benefit from different treatments. Ice Pick scars may be shallow or deep and look like an injury from being stabbed with an ice pick depressed fibrotic scars vary between mounds or craters on the facial skin. They may be a variety of sizes but are often found on the cheek area. These types of scars don’t respond well to treatments that stretch the tissue but may be improved with collagen or fat injections.
There are over-the-counter treatments for acne scars that contain collagen, but applying collagen to the surface of your skin is a waste of time. Collagen molecules are too large to pass through the skin and won’t be able to get below the skin’s surface. The only way to increase collagen in your skin is to inject it into the area or increase your consumption of foods that contain antioxidants that will help your skin produce more collagen. This probably isn’t going to be enough to diminish the appearance of your acne scars.
Just because you experience a change in the color of your skin when your acne goes away, this doesn’t mean you have a scar. This is a change that should go away by itself but it may take several months for it to do so. It isn’t considered to be a scar until it fails to disappear for a full year. After this amount of time, topical creams and those treatments used for other acne scars may be applied.
Many of the topical acne treatments are all-natural and contain ingredients like Vitamin C or some form of Vitamin A. Other natural ingredients may include garlic, cucumber and a variety of herbs. These creams may help in the treatments of acne scars if they are mild but probably won’t make a considerable difference for deep blemishes.
